Good Friends Class

K.M. (9)               L.F. (9)
These two good friends wanted to take a sewing class together but K. has had 9 sewing classes and L. was brand new to it.  Not a problem, especially with just 2 students in the class.

So L. took the beginner class and learned all about how to read a pattern, cutting fabric and using the sewing machine.  L picked things up quickly and worked very hard on her apron.  I think the hardest part was to stay focused on where she was sewing while listening to what else is going on in class.  But after a couple of seam ripping sessions L. quickly learned how to tune the "noise" out.  I think this wonderful lined apron shows what a quick learner she is!

K. was able to get right to work on her own laying her pattern out, cutting, pinning and sewing.  With this project K. learned how to gather and attach a ruffle to the bottom of her skirt. I like the way she chose to change the direction of the fabric for the ruffle - cute touch to a darling skirt!.
