Back for another summer camp!

G.C. (10)               G. O. (10)            L.O. (12)
G.O. (10) and L.O. (12) were here earlier this summer learning how to make a quilted tote and now they are back to learn how to make p.j. pants.  G.C. (10) had a class last month where I taught her how to use her brand new sewing machine and she made a cute gift bag.
To make these cozy p.j. pants the girls learned how to measure themselves and determine which pattern size to use.  They also got lots of practice cutting out fabric (they all decided that this is their least favorite part) and following pattern instructions.  They learned how to make a casing for the waistband and the importance of clipping seam allowances on curves.  Once the pants were completed the girls went through just about every utility stitch on my machines and chose their favorite to add to the hem of the pants.

L. finished a little ahead of the others so she made a wrist pin cushion like one of these.
