Mother/Daughter Summer Camp

   R and C.(8) joined me for a fun Mother/Daughter sewing camp this week.  R. had a bit of sewing experience and C. was a first timer.  C. had gotten a sewing machine from Santa, so she brought it to class and got some good practice using it to make her darling apron. 
   You would think that mom would spend a lot of time twiddling her thumbs waiting for her daughter to catch up before moving on to the next set of instructions.  But surprisingly, it doesn't end up that way.  R. was a very meticulous seamstress so by the time she had redone a seam here and there her daughter had caught up to her.
   I think both R. and C. had a fun time in class this week making their beautiful aprons.  R. told me that with several children it's sometimes very hard to spend quality time together with just one child, and this class gave them some great 1 on 1 time together.  Just think of all of the added time they can spend together in the kitchen sporting their new aprons!
